Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the utilization of a high temp. gas effective which is used as a heat source of a heater for starting. CONSTITUTION: The body 6 of a fuel cell consists of an anode 7 and cathode 20, and an oxidating agent gas supply path 17 in connection with a nitrogen gas supply path 30 is connected with the input side of the cathode 20 while an oxidating agent gas exhaust path 21 equipped with an exhaust heat collecting device 22 is connected with the cathode output side. A circulating flow path 24 is interposed between the oxidating agent gas supply path 17 ad the oxidating agent gas exhaust path 21. A bypass 32 equipped with a heater 34 for starting using high temp. gas 33 as a heat source is put in connection with the output side of the flow path 24 convergent point of the oxidating agent gas supply path 17, while a high temp. gas exhaust path 40 of the heater 34 is put in connection with the output side of the flow path 24 junction of the oxidating agent gas exhaust path 21.
